Egg Photography

A better title is not a lot to me. :-) I really wanted the title, the subject of photography and connect iPhone. I know, very creative. But that's how I am * grin *

Yesterday I got in Micah's new blog a brief review of the iPhone camera detected. He writes that the results of the camera are rather dull and the colors are not really represented realistically. He gives the camera the grade 4 - in his summary.

I can agree only conditionally. I would write more, that provides the results of the camera to the user through the neutral reproduction creates the necessary room for the creative spirit. What else you have Photoshop mobile ? ;-)

My conclusion:
3 million pixels are not really THE absolute knockout criterion, which we all know. Images in the size of 2048 * 1536px will suffice for the normal requirements (flickr, facebook, etc.) but full out. Honestly, who has his paintings in this dimension is online? Most of the images to 800 * 600px be reduced. And printed in the size of 13 x 18 cm can be made with 2048 * 1536px all.

The way the chip reflects the images of the iPhone then, is rather the "problem". Many of the cheap miniature cameras shot pictures with the help of software-on-camera mechanisms. The result should also finally dropped immediately. And that makes the iPhone just either do not or rather bad than good. But that does not mean you have to do without the camera.

It is like the love of money: it is neither good nor bad, it all depends on what you do with it : Mrgreen:

Here is a before, after comparison. OK, the frame was too much, but I just wanted to show the possibilities of mobile imaging. I manipulated the usual suspects: color, contrast, exposure (light / dark) and some sharpened.

What should he do otherwise when waiting at the supermarket checkout else?

PS Action - Big Pictures

In lens-flare.de I got a tip about a free Photoshop action from Adobe discovered. The picture, as it then comes out as a result I liked, so I had to try out the times. But what was Photoshop?? I've never used Photoshop, let alone run an "action" in it. What pray tell is an action? Well, you'd think someone who was photographed, be familiar with Photoshop, too. But not everyone who has a cold used, and even pace ;-)

I must say that I am a little out of spite against almost fought me to deal with Photoshop. But at some point the subject of intensive image processing is now simply turn times. Gimp seemed to me so far but always a welcome guest because I am an open source supporter, but the useability is just mediocre. Since I was always Lightroom much easier and more intuitive to use. But sometimes I felt like I could with Photoshop a bit "do more" from the images. Can of course be only pure speculation, since I'm gone so I said never in the right direction. Maybe I paper-times a VHS course. Will see.

Well, since I wanted to try this tiled effect necessarily, I had to just download a trial version of Photoshop from the Adobe website. No sooner said than done. Before, I had to look up what is an action and how these then imported into Photoshop. An action is basically nothing more than a recorded sequence of image editing actions in Photoshop. All united in a macro that automatically everything unravels and delivers the finished product, without having done it myself was. This. Atn action file you copied by hand into the Photoshop program folder under Presets / Actions. If you then open in Photoshop, the photo you want, I then simply. Atn file, double-click-ge, I did not know where to start within this Photoshop action. Then it was already on a window where I could start this action.

The result pleases me well. Whether I am really afford Photoshop, I doubt it. For no real guidance or training, it is probably not as simple look through there.

And here the output image

LR 3 LR 3 or not?

I am still thinking whether I should wait for Lightroom three, or possibly the current take me completely reoriented.

When I my Macbook for the first time in his hands, I was surprised by the variety of software pleasant. Alone, iLife 09 is the hammer. With iPhoto , I thought at first, would meet my expectations. However, I quickly became a better informed. Not for nothing is iPhoto often compared to Google's Picasa. Like here on photoscala.de . Yes, the features are nice. But the search with face recognition is funny and a way of geotagging are also given. But as already mentioned once a more detailed report of iPhoto will come. iPhoto is a nice add-on, but not a substitute for cars such as Lightroom. I also had (again) to GIMP thought, but the complicated and unusual GUI to put me back on it. Until now I had convinced Adobe's Lightroom best.

Therefore, I ask myself, wait for Lightroom 3 or not?

On galileodesign.de there are 90 minutes long video insights into the public beta version of Lightroom third And only the new import interface with the simple way to import new images into an existing catalog would be almost a reason to wait for the final version 3. For me, anyway, which is anyway need to buy a new Mac version of LR. Whether I would go on LR3, I would not buy it? I think not. Overall, I'd say, most innovations in LR3 is not groundbreaking. Adobe could have it all put in an update to 2.6. But no money would have injected. Understandably.

The new import interface, the improved Scharfzeichnungsfunktion and the opportunity to sharpen the edges of the noise reduction can be later, in my view, helpful new features.

Also interesting is the Auto Sync function in series of pictures. In the video you can see this feature in the choice of a picture in action. Really nice. The slide-show module has been enhanced and the ability to create your own layout for printing are also helpful cut, but not really for me now.

new way to embed watermarks into the images to the can, there were already a plugin with Mogrify . And that Adobe now thinks of a way to be able to export the images to external communities such as flickr.com, comes rather late, but is also nice. However, only re nice, because with the Jeffrey's Export-to-Flickr Lightroom Plugin can also survive in the current version of LR to do wonderfully. And in my opinion, even better, because as far as I could see it, the LR3 beta version but bring pictures to flickr, but these do not provide the desired flickr groups. The aforementioned plugin dominates the masterly.

More details on new features in the Lightroom Beta 3 version you can also blog Lightroom product manager Tom Hogarty read from.

And here again the link to the video on LR3 Beta galileodesign.de .

Let us hope that the final version of LR3 has more to offer.

from old makes useful ...

Blume Blume I finally want to test some of my old manual focusable lenses on my digital Nikon. I'm here as an old Vivitar macro zoom. There has been consultation which is good (35-105mm consistent with an initial aperture of 1:3.5) But somehow I think it has a real problem with the edge image. Therefore, I use it never will. But out - in my opinion - unskilled photos can bildbearbeitungstechnisch still do something. A sharp macro I would have preferred, but it's simply lack the right lens, or financial resources to do so.

The first image is unprocessed, the flower and the second the processed image.
